Looking for a Summer Job? TRS Craft Services are in need of Painters for a 12 week project at the Global Foundries in Burlington, Vermont.


Painter
SUMMARY: Patching and painting of interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, and other structures.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety
• Ensure the appropriate safety and chemical practices are followed.
• Ensure all certification and training is in accordance with the requirements.
• Implement safety standards with Global Foundries Safety.

General Duties (include but not limited to):
• Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool and remove old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty plaster, or other filler.
• Paint surfaces using brushes or paint rollers.
• Set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Other duties include light duty maintenance and repairs on building/facility systems, structures, equipment and furniture as needed.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in commercial or residential painting required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Physically workers must be able to:
o Tolerate paint fumes;
o Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift heavy objects;
o See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors;
o Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and feel objects;
o Coordinate well the use of eyes and hands.
• Skills
o Able to work well without direct supervision.
o Polite, professional and well-presented
o Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
o Able to communicate effectively with the client, taking into consideration the client’s wants and needs on a daily basis.
o Problem solving skills
o Basic computer skills

Pay is $15.00- $17.00 hr DOE
