Payroll Department Manager
We currently seek a high caliber Payroll Department Manager for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Los Angeles County, CA

Summary of position:
The Payroll Manager will coordinate the processing of weekly union and non-union payrolls in accordance with prescribed procedures by supervising payroll team and interacting with other departments, field personnel, and upper management. The position supports other departments as well as upper management by performing analytical projects as requested.
Requirements / Must haves:
• Hire, train, supervise and review the work of payroll team
• Set up and e-verify all new hires in the accounting software and ensure that all required new hire documents are completed.
• Supervise and review the entry of time cards for five companies every week.
• Prepare layoff, adjustment, replacement, and missed time manual checks.
• Prepare quarterly State and Federal payroll tax returns.
• Maintain rates for non-union personnel and monitor union rates and benefit amounts under four trades and numerous locals.
• Prepare monthly union reports for the company and its joint ventures.
• Coordinate and review the garnishment process.
• Archive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports.
• Maintain union transfer file.
• Manage reporting of certified payrolls to various agencies as required.
• Perform special projects and analysis for the Controller and other department heads.
