Our Partner, a manufacturer of cryogenic equipment used in the production, storage, and distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and industrial gases, is looking for a Process Technology Engineer. This is an excellent full-time opportunity located in The Woodlands, Texas.
Job Summary
The Process Technology Engineer - Contractor works with the Process Engineering and Process Technology teams to develop new and innovative processes from conceptual design to commercial development. The candidate must have the ability to work well with others, provide expert knowledge and opinions. The Engineer must be able to prepare process information, reports, presentation and package of information to present to the working team, as well as the management and business personnel.
Activities will include the following:
• Work with other Engineers in the development of new and upgraded processes
• Write process descriptions for new and/or updated processes
• Support development of simulations
• Support development work of heat and material balances
• Support and develop Process Flow Diagrams
• Support and develop P&IDs
• Prepare process equipment data sheets, equipment lists, electrical usage, and utility usage lists
• Ability to support process systems calculations, including line sizing, hydraulic evaluations, vessel sizing, valve sizing, etc.
• Develop process control schemes for new processes
• Check process engineering work performed by other process engineers
• Assist in the preparation of Start-up and Operating Manuals
Requirements
• Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 year of industry experience
• Strong preference of someone with 20+ years of experience in acetylene production, processing, and manufacture.
• Knowledge of chemical engineering “First Principles”
• Working knowledge of ASPEN HYSYS and/or SimSci process simulation software
• Working knowledge of ASPEN and/or AVEVA dynamic simulation software.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in acetylene processing and handling.
• Experience in operating facilities dealing with production of acetylene
• Knowledgeable of codes and standards dealing with acetylene processes and handling
• Good understanding of process safety codes and standards, PSM regulation, NFPA codes and standards, general safety standards when dealing with acetylene and acetylene manufacture.
• Understands basic applicable engineering codes
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written for the purpose of explaining challenges and solutions internally
• Good interpersonal skills to successfully interface other engineering disciplines and customers
