Job Summary:

The Project Payables Analyst is responsible for managing and processing project-related payables, ensuring accuracy, compliance with tax regulations, and adherence to company and client policies. This role supports project execution by coordinating with procurement, contracts, and project controls teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Handle vendor and subcontractor invoices and check requests, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Payment Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate payments in line with commercial terms and project procedures.
  • Compliance: Maintain adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Team Coordination: Oversee and support activities of other AP team members on the project.
  • Ledger Management: Manage accounts payable-related ledger accounts and ensure proper coding and reconciliation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, contracts, project controls, and other finance disciplines.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records and assist with audits and financial reporting as needed.
  • Training & Guidance: Provide support and training to junior analysts and clerks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in accounts payable or project accounting.
  • Proficiency in automated accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and financial compliance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in construction, engineering, or large-scale project environments.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
This position could be considered as remote as an option.
