Utility Fitters

TRS Craft Services is hiring Utility Fitters for a energy compression company located in Northwest Houston.


Purpose
Responsible for the layout and fabrication of equipment Threaded and Socket weld utility piping. Position requires moderate supervision.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
• Follows all HSSE guidelines
• Utilizes working knowledge of the installation of different types of major components.
• Understands and Interpret schematic diagrams to install components
• General knowledge of Rigging and lifting components.
• Operate Hoist or moving / lifting equipment
• Read tape measure and basic math skills
• Capable of tack weld
• Operate pipe threading machines, pipe wrenches and other hand and power tools
• Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
• Capable of completing production and quality documents.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to cross-reference “Bill of materials” vs schematics
• Ability to create the layout and run ½” -2” pressure containing piping.
• Assist in performing pneumatic tests
• Fabricate and Install small structural supports and brackets
• Promotes and supports safety, production with a positive attitude
• Create and participate with daily JHA (Job hazard analysis)
• Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
• Requires frequent operation of heavy equipment such as crane, forklift, welding tools and scissor lift

* Must have previous experience in national pipe threading ,reggit 535 machine, setting die machine, running threaded pipe

**All candidates will be tested on how using tape measure, basic math, fractions, subtractions and using pipe threader machine**


Education, Skills, and Experience
• High school diploma, GED or higher
• Vocational or technical education a plus
• 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training
• Knowledge of Forklift and Man Lift
• Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time
• Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time
• Requires employee to occasionally inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance
• Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility
• Requires work on loud environment
• Requires moving and maintaining self constantly in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
• Position rarely requires travel
• Position rarely requires employee drive

Shift: Monday-Friday 5pm-3:30am
Monday-Friday 6am-5pm
8-10hour shifts
