Welder

We are currently seeking Welders for a Manufacturing Facility here in the Summerville area. This is a DIRECT HIRE position on first shift working 4/ 10hour days. Please read the job description below and apply with an updated resume for consideration.


General Description:
Work in a fast paced production environment with a high emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency. Welders will utilize fixtures and positioners to fit and weld subassemblies in accordance with work instructions and WPS. This position also requires a knowledge of weld quality and performing visual evaluation of welds as well as pre-weld and post-weld dimensional inspection of workpiece.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Follow work instructions to position align, and fit parts in fixture.
 Utilize various measuring tools such as a tape measure, Vernier calipers, etc. to check the workpiece.
 Set weld parameters according to weld procedure sheet.
 Perform fillet and grove welds in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions utilizing the GMAW process.
 Visually examine welds to identify defects such as roll over, porosity, undercut, and lack of fusion.
 Conduct post weld dimensional examination.
 Operate weld equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment to the Safety or Maintenance department.
 Maintain an orderly work area.

Education and Qualifications:
 2 or more years working experience with GMAW
 Must be highly proficient with spray transfer GMAW and demonstrate first time quality
 Must display excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and fix basic weld defects
 Able to read a tape measure and use weld gauges
 Capable of operating various shop tools such as plasma cutters, acetylene torches, carbon arc gouge, etc.
 Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for an entire shift
 Able to operate a crane and forklift safely
 Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
 Must work well under pressure in international and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines
