Buildings Superintendent

TRS Staffing is seeking a Buildings Superintendent for a local, multi-disciplinary general contractor specializing in heavy civil and commercial construction in Vancouver, BC. The Buildings Superintendent, working directly under the Project Director is responsible for safety, quality, schedule, production, cost performance and team development.

Responsibilities:
 

• Supervise construction personnel and look over on-site construction activities
• Be involved in the hiring and training of craft personnel
• Prepare work plans and schedules to determine manpower levels, equipment requirements and material quantities
• Oversee the project construction plan and develop job schedules ahead of time
• Collaborate with Project Manager to implement and follow through all safety documentation and processes
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:
 

• Atleast 7 years of experience in a supervisory role as a Superintendent in the commercial sector
• Strong knowledge of building construction industry and business operations, such as cost management processes and reports, construction specifications and methods, project planning and schedules
• Knowledge of Provincial Building Codes and Building Envelope
• Ability to work on a diverse schedule that includes night shifts
