Business Development Principal

TRS Staffing Solutions has been conferred by one of Toronto’s major engineering consultancies to recruit a Principal for their Commercial & Educational Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong network within the educational sector who’s passionate about business development.


Job Description

• Demonstrate contentious abilities to propagate commercial market intelligence throughout the year and provide its best results to upper management.
• Apply exceptional business development skills to manage clients, contractors, vendors and sub-contractors.
• Establish and strategize marketing, business development plans; and monitor its continued performance throughout the year.
• Subject matter expert for cost and budget management, contract execution, marketing, legal counsel for regulatory compliance.
• Managerial abilities to oversee education projects and identifying areas to mitigate contractual risks.
• Ensure client and customer satisfaction at its highest level, update leads and proposals for existing and new commercial ventures.


To be successful in this role you must have

• Post-secondary degree preferably in engineering or architecture and affiliation to a professional association will be a huge advantage.
• 10+ years of commercial and institutional experience in Canada, preferably within Eastern Canada.
• 8 years+ of design build experience within the Commercial and Educational sectors along with extensive experience in business development, client account management and contract execution.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial regulatory processes paired with exceptional business development skills to attract new clients and manage existing ones.
• Sound knowledge of architectural design and Canadian permit and building codes.
