Impact: Nature and scope of influence a position has on its area of responsibility/ operation.
1. Be responsible for the development of end to end feasibility study either by work it alone or utilizing external consultants / advisors on selected areas that include but not limited to
a) market study
b) product/service definition c) targeted segments d) go to market e) PESTEL, SWOT and risk studies”
2. Build a Pipeline of Value Adding Business Opportunities
opportunities from ideation to realization
b) Source business opportunities from network and develop internal business opportunities based on thorough studies and research in key sectors
c) Act as program/project manager and chief catalyst for all business development opportunities
3. Execute Business Opportunity Evaluation Process
a) Manage the process of evaluating business opportunities to insure they meet business goals
b) Carryout a thorough due diligence of all aspects of the business opportunity
c) Continuously develop and improve on evaluation process
4. Manage the Business Execution Process from Inception to Execution
a) Lead the development of a robust business plan
b) Attract and manage technical partners
c) Negotiate deals with stakeholders
d) Manage legal and financial implementation
e) Manage government regulation and procedures
f) Hire key management
g) Develop key targets and success matrices
Communication: Position’s responsibility for communications both within and outside the organization.
5. Maintain and Grow a Network of Relationships with Business Community
a) Grow and maintain an effective network of people in the business community that will be a source of new opportunities
b) Communicate key initiatives and strengths
Innovation: Identify, develop and make ideas, techniques, procedures, services, or products.
7. Facilitate Strategy Formulation
a) Facilitate the annual strategy process
b) Engage with leadership and key stakeholder groups to read external business trends and internal organizational realities, and translate into strategic implications for the short and long term
c) Help evaluate and optimize business model
8. Explore and Develop New Areas of Business Development
a) Ensure creation and implementation of BD structure, operating principles, and coordination mechanisms
b) Identify, map and manage dependencies and relationships with all projects and initiatives, ensuring optimization of BD resources
c) Partner with other units and businesses where appropriate for resource complementarities and synergy.
9. Continuously Improve and Develop on BD Operational Process
• Carry out an internal study to measure the effectiveness of the BD operational process and provide plan of improvement
Financial KPI’s Non – Financial KPI’s
• Operating Expense - Actual vs Budgeted
• Portfolio value and growth
• Invested capital • Number of new relationships
• Number of deals pipeline
• Number of deals reviewed
• Number Economic & market reports
• Timely delivery of reports and assessments
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (IPE KNOWLEDGE)
Knowledge
• Knowledge in business and financial analysis, feasibility study, strategy, markets and economy, report writing;
• Knowledge in both quantitative and qualitative analyses, concentrating on financial stability, equity return and contractual terms
• Language: Fluency in written & spoken English and Arabic
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration. Masters preferred
Experience
• 10 years’ experience in Business Development with 3 years in the investment field
