Job Title: Chief Procurement Officer (CPO)
Location: Mumbai
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Summary: The Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) is responsible for overseeing the procurement strategy and ensuring that all purchasing activities align with the company's overall objectives. This executive position is essential for managing the acquisition of goods and services that support the company's operations and contribute to its financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement processes.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Cost Management: Drive cost improvements across the supply chain through continuous review and revision of procurement strategies.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulatory and best practice frameworks.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven track record of driving cost savings and process improvements.
- Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
