Civil Design I

The Civil Designer I is an entry level position that will focus on learning the fundamentals of civil design as well as design, computer, and general office standards.

This role contributes and supports the engineering team in master planning, engineering design, and research for specific tasks on projects. The Civil Designer I is expected to learn necessary drafting, design, and research skills to assist the engineers and project managers in the analysis of proposed and current projects. This position is encouraged to ask many questions and seek mentorship to better understand and analyze plan presentation, reliability, engineering design, project scopes and delivery timelines.
 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s or associate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college/university preferred

Basic AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills required

Minimum 2 years' CAD Tech experience preferred

Previous Civil Engineering internship with a Civil Engineering design firm preferred

AutoCAD certification preferred

Desired Skills:

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT)/ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) registration preferred
• A strong desire for continuous professional and personal development and improvement
• Ability to work independently to effectively manage time and work in a team environment
• Proficiency in a wide variety of software programs including Microsoft Office
• Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering Design (Preliminary Plats, SWPPP, Grading, Drainage, Water, and Sewer Systems)
• Ability to read and understand Civil and Landscape drawings
• A valid driver's license
