    We are currently seeking a Electrical and Instrumentation Superintendent to support a robust project in Bay Minette, AL (provisions offered to travelers).

    Job Summary

    The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Superintendent is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all electrical and instrumentation construction activities on assigned projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards. The E&I Superintendent serves as the primary on‑site leader for E&I crews and subcontractors.


    Key Responsibilities

    Project Execution & Supervision

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily electrical and instrumentation construction activities.

  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources to meet project milestones.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to ensure accurate execution.

  • Monitor project progress and productivity; identify and resolve issues impacting schedule or cost.

  • Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and project-specific safety plans.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ISA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).

  • Promote a strong safety culture and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors.

  • Quality Control

  • Ensure all electrical and instrumentation installations meet quality standards, codes, and client specifications.

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and system turnover activities.

  • Identify and correct nonconforming work in a timely manner.

  • Leadership & Communication

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate foremen, electricians, instrument technicians, and craft labor.

  • Provide clear direction and expectations to field personnel.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between project management, engineering, clients, inspectors, and subcontractors.

  • Participate in progress meetings and provide accurate status reports.

  • Cost & Schedule Management

  • Assist with project planning, sequencing, and work packaging.

  • Track labor hours, material usage, and productivity metrics.

  • Support change management, including scope changes, RFIs, and field adjustments.


  • Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade certification preferred.

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation construction, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation commonly used in industrial or commercial construction.

  • Thorough understanding of NEC, NFPA, ISA standards, and OSHA safety regulations.

  • Proven ability to lead crews, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.


  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial, heavy commercial, or process facility construction (e.g., manufacturing, chemical, power, oil & gas).

  • Experience with commissioning, startup, and system turnover.

  • Familiarity with construction management software, scheduling tools, and productivity tracking.


  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work in elevated or confined spaces.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.

  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or night shifts as project schedules require.
