Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform environmental monitoring and follow-up activities in line with environmental approvals and relevant legislation.
- Compile and submit reports on monitoring, inspections, and audits.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to facilitate the execution of the Environmental Management Plan.
- Implement control measures to manage all environmental aspects and related issues in support of the project.
- Support the delivery of environmental orientation sessions for project personnel and conduct regular environmental toolbox talks as needed.
- Keep detailed records of environmental monitoring activities and inspections.
- Address environmental concerns and ensure compliance with environmental approvals and project agreements.
- Offer guidance and recommendations to enhance environmental protection and rectify any non-compliance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Qualified Person (QP) certification preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, including construction companies in British Columbia
- Knowledge of British Columbia’s environmental laws and regulations
- Experience on large infrastructure projects preferred
- Knowledge of environmental inspection methods and best practices
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Conducting environmental inspections and ensuring compliance
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills
- Availability for flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends
