Finance Director
He will provide the leadership and direction to ensure the development of relevant financial information, and timely financial budgeting and planning and financial reporting for senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
He will ensure alignment with the mission, core values, partnership policies and strategies of the organization.
Key Accountabilities
1 Ensure that the finances are effectively and efficiently managed with sufficient controls through systems and procedures to mitigate fraud, abuse, and or waste
2 Work with the Chief Financial Officer, and other Executive Team members, in developing policies and a vision for the future
3 Oversee development of policies, procedures, and processes to promote internal controls, the prevention of fraud, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, sound business practices, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations
4 Ensure accountability and compliance with applicable legal, governmental and regulatory requirements
Key Activities
5 Oversee and direct cash management, budgeting, annual certified audit, tax returns, accounting and preparation of monthly statements and reports, the accounts receivable, preparation, and preparation of all reports required by the organization
6 Direct the Chief Accountant in developing and implementing procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper accounting records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services
7 Oversee, review, and approve the preparation of monthly, annual and ad hoc financial reports
8 Direct short and long range financial planning
9 Serve as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organizations
10 Appraises the organization’s financial position and issues monthly and other periodic financial and operating reports
11 Direct and coordinate the establishment of routine annual budgets
12 Analyse, consolidate, and direct all cost reporting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports
13 Oversee and direct the preparation and issuance of the corporation’s Annual Report
14 Direct and analyse studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organizations policies and operations
15 Participates in management team meetings
16 Manage and direct the activities of finance department employees
4. Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field; Master’s preferred.
Work Experience
15 years of work experience in Accounting/Finance or a related field, including supervisory experience.
