Geotechnical Engineer

Geotechnical Engineer required for our client based in Richmond. As the Geotechnical Engineer you will provide geotechnical support to a wide variety of hydrocarbon projects located both onshore and offshore, and covering all project phases including Concept, FEED, and detailed design. Ideal experience for onshore projects will include geotechnical engineering as applied to oil and gas processing plants, LNG plants, refineries, or similar such as heavy industrial or nuclear facilities. Experience should cover specification and interpretation of onshore geotechnical and geophysical survey, design of site preparation earthworks, and design of deep and shallow foundations. Ideal experience for offshore and nearshore projects will include geotechnical engineering as applied to steel jackets, gravity base structures and jetties, or similar experience such as obtained from offshore wind projects. Experience should include specification and interpretation of offshore geotechnical and geophysical survey, and design of piled foundations and of mud-mat foundations. We are looking for practical problem solvers with strong design experience, who are capable of assuming technical responsibility for the geotechnical aspects of individual projects or groups of projects, working under the technical supervision and guidance of senior geotechnical engineers within the group. It is not expected that candidates will meet all of the above criteria, and candidates with relevant experience gained in other industries or major project developments will be considered, however all candidates should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills on the job.
