We currently seek an experienced GIS Analyst to join our client's team on a major Onshore Oil & Gas project. Based in Farnborough, Hampshire you will be working for one of the world's leading EPC companies.

This is an ongoing contract position, long term.

The GIS Analyst will be responsible for the maintenance of GIS pipeline and related data for an engineering and construction project. You will need to be able to interpret data, maps and aerial imagery, identify and resolve data discrepancies and take steps to maintain data quality. With the support of the GIS team, you will be expected to be proactive in communicating with engineers to solve issues and carry out analysis to answer queries.

Key Responsibilities
Pipeline route evaluation
Land profile generation
Map and alignment sketch production
Crossings schedule maintenance
Import/export of data from various sources (e.g. imagery, CAD, Excel)
Ensure spatial and attribute consistency and accuracy within GIS datasets
Communicate with engineers to field queries and solve GIS data issues

Essential
Experienced with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop or Pro software
Experienced working with spatial data and GIS systems
Degree qualified in GIS or related field, or an equivalent level of experience
Good communicator, with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn

Desirable
Experience of working with GIS data in pipelines, engineering or construction fields
Experience of working with different projection systems
Experience of automation of data processing in FME, Python or Model Builder
