Job Description – Healthcare Focused Project Manager
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of practical experience in a project administration preferred.
- Healthcare construction experience required, preferably in California with HCAI knowledge.
- Experience in construction management preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
- Act as an Owners Representative with direct client facing responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
- Manage the design process with the client and designers.
- Responsible for onsite quality assurance of contractor work
- Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of the contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.
- Collaborate with IOR and HCAI field officials.
- Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client.
- Conduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information.
- Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer, adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment.
- Provide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and work force utilization
- Experience working in the occupied space of an active hospital and directly with its end users (Physicians, Staff and Facilities) is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required.
- Knowledge of design requirements, architecturally significant medical equipment, and industry practices specific to the Healthcare (HCAI) sector in California is required.
- Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite of tools is required, and knowledge of scheduling database tools such as Primavera (P6) or Procore is preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is required.
- Strong collaboration, conflict resolution and team building skills are required and essential.
- Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to the owner.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.
- Ability to regularly communicate with client and team to achieve project goals.
- Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts.
- Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed.
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with clients.
- Ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members.
- Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, Scheduling, Submittals, Change orders.
- Demonstrated high level of performance in project budgeting, contract negotiations and scheduling.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook) applications and Project software.
