Major Duties and Responsibilities
The human resource specialist handles and provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization.
  • Calculates and provides staff with annual fringe benefit allowance; reviews enrollment forms for accuracy and coordinates enrollment with third-party administrator.
  • Ensures compliance with COBRA guidelines by preparing letters and other paperwork as directed; receives and records COBRA insurance premium payments.
  • Coordinates health, life and disability insurance enrollments and communicates with service providers concerning routine administration of programs.
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment with third-party administrator.
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.
  • Maintains listing of approved positions along with assigned salary levels.
  • Processes personnel action forms and ensures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
  • Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website, reviewing resumes, and performing telephone interviews, coordinating on-site interviews, and reference checks.
  • Assists in the on boarding process for all new hires.
  • Maintains the employee handbook and company policies and procedures with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as needed. 
  • Assists with training programs for new and current team members.
  • Assists with the process of payroll.
  • Assists with HR reporting.
  • Provides professional customer services to staff, team members, and vendors.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the HR department.
  • Performs other duties as assign.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical school course work and minimum of three years of job-related experience, preferably in a human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR credential. (Preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite), computer hardware and computer servers.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Additional Notes (internal)
  • Search opened today (11/3). TRS and one other agency are working on it.
  • Pay: $55-65K
  • Degree not required.
  • 3 (minimum) - 5 years of HR experience within manufacturing (doesn’t have to be specific to aluminum or die casting)
  • Relo is an option, but we have the market for local candidates so local preferred.
  • Will report to Greer
