TRS Craft Services is hiring for Instrument Fitter in Northwest Houston!
Purpose
Responsible for assisting with the Instrumentation installations of equipment in the production area. Position requires minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
• Able to read P&ID, and general arrangement drawings.
• Able to copy a skid layout using P&IDs, general arrangement drawings or previous unit.
• Ability to use measuring tape and perform mathematical equations and fractions
• Able to identify tubing fittings and tubing sizes of (1/4 to 1”). (Parker & Swagelok)
• Experience using a hand benders for ¼” to ½” & Swagelok bench benders for ¾” &1” stainless steel tubing
• Ability to perform various bends such as 90’, 45’, 30’ degree.
• Able to stack up to 5 tubing lines consecutively to devices or rack.
• Fabricate aluminum, stainless steel, fiberglass and galvanized tray.
• Ability to work under pressure, fast pace and different climate environments
• Helps with mechanical assembly as needed
• Participates in the Quality Improvement Process as required
• Able to work with other team members and manage work flow for assigned units.
• Participate and create a daily JHA (Job hazard analysis)
• Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
• Requires frequent operation of heavy equipment such as crane, forklift, welding tools and scissor lift
• Identification and proper use of instrumentation materials
• Layout and installation of instrument stands and supports
• Mounting and installation of instrument devices
• Installs instruments, instrument stands and control wiring to valves and strokes valves to verify operation
• Installs switches, recorders, alarms and other devices
• Understanding of principles of measurement as applied to instrumentation
Education, Skills, and Experience
• Preference will be given to a high school graduate with trade school credits.
• Must have a minimum of three + years’ experience working in Oil / gas Industry Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time
• Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time
• Requires employee to frequently inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
• Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility
• Requires work on loud environment
• Requires moving and maintaining self constantly in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
• Position rarely requires travel
• Position rarely requires employee drive
