FUNCTION: JAVASCRIPT / MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPER

DURATION: 6 MONTHS CONTRACT
SALARY: R30 000 - R40 000 PER MONTH

“TRS is urgently looking for a senior level experienced JavaScript / Mobile Application Developer to be based in Durban, to deliver a feature-rich mobile application using React Native for our FMCG Client, an importer and distributor of fresh and frozen perishables and a represents a portfolio of leading retail industry.”

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• A web-based business application (AngularJS/WebAPI) has been developed which fully integrates into the company’s ERP system and facilitates the complete export business process. The system has been live for the past two and a half years and the client is looking to make some of the functions available on a mobile application. Some of the features include:
o Ability to browse and track orders (past and current).
o Notification history and management to make it easy for the user to understand the progress and status of his orders.
o View and approve offers.
o Make notes and communicate with the relevant Client business representative.
o View details and images of products in orders.

• The development stack is:
o Expo for React Native application development for (iOS and Android)
o React Native Paper as the UI (Material for React)

• The mobile application communicates with a ASP .NET WebAPI Backend on a MS SQL database.

• The WebAPI backend is already well defined and documented and has been the operational backend for the company’s Line-of-business application for two and a half years.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Recognized and accredited Matric / Diploma / Degree qualification.
• Proficiency in the following development languages is required:
o JavaScript/ES6
o With the below being advantageous:
 C#
 SQL

• JavaScript:
o React

• With the below being advantageous:
o AngularJS 1.x
o Material Design
o Underscore.js

• Experience delivering apps into the app stores advantageous.
• Further work may be available to the successful applicant after completion of the mobile application in the maintenance and enhancement of IOEC’s web-based business application. Specifically:
o Maintaining ASP.NET Web API and JavaScript AngularJS codebase.
o Implementing new features and enhancements.
o Understanding, discussing and developing solutions for business requirements.
o Database table design where required to support any additional features built into the application.

• Skills in the following areas would be required:
o Familiar with frameworks:
 Entity Framework 6
 .NET
 AngularJS
 ASP .NET Web API
 Razor
 RabbitMQ
 Windows Services

• Comfortable with methods:
o TDD
o Integration testing (Specflow)
o Agile
o SCRUM
o SOLID

• Development Tools:
o VS Code
o Visual Studio (2015+)
o SSMS
o Git (Version control)
