Land Development Civil Engineer
We currently seek a high caliber Civil Engineer for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Orange County, CA
Summary of position:
The successful candidate must be eager and able to provide civil engineering expertise for our client’s Orange County office.
Job Requirements:
- Act as a design figure on team by designing the layout of grading, street improvements and underground facilities within firm design standards, agency processing requirements and client expectations
- Ensure quality of design and implement new ideas through supervision, participation, plan reviews and training of junior staff.
- Assist team leader in client/agency interaction. Endeavor to build lasting relationships and respect with coworkers and clients. Attend meetings and conference calls as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline from a four-year college or university
- Civil engineering design experience totaling three years; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years’ experience independently solving complex engineering problems within land development
- Successful candidates will also have well-developed problem-solving, decision-making, communication and team building skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, LDD and/or Civil 3D software required.
- EIT certification is required, PE preferred.

- Sewer, Water, Reclaimed Water, Storm Drain Design & Plan Preparation
- Mass, Rough and Precise Grading Design and Plan Preparation
- Erosion Control Design and Plan Preparation
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Hydrology & Hydraulic Studies and Report Preparation
- Quantity & Cost Estimate Preparation
- Tentative and Final Parcel Map and Tract Map Preparation
- AutoCAD/GIS Mapping Support
- NPDES Permit Application Preparation & SWPPP Preparation
- Planning & Graphics
- Land Surveying, Mapping & Construction Staking
- Construction & Project Management
