Position Overview
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will act as the Company’s technical authority for all mechanical engineering activities associated with the J3 Expansion Project, specifically the S1T Jetty 3 scope. The role involves leading engineering development, coordinating with EPC contractors, ensuring technical compliance, and validating all mechanical deliverables relating to static equipment, packaged equipment, and rotating machinery. The successful candidate will bring extensive LNG project experience and deep knowledge of applicable standards, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable mechanical system performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, focusing on static equipment, packages, and rotating equipment in LNG facilities or LNG megaprojects.
- Strong understanding of international and Singapore mechanical engineering codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, SS standards, etc.).
- Proven experience in mechanical design, specification, and review of:
- Pressure vessels
- Heat exchangers
- Storage tanks
- Pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment
- Packaged mechanical systems
- Demonstrated capability in reviewing vendor documents, equipment specifications, design reports, and materials selection.
- Strong understanding of mechanical interfaces with civil/structural, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and marine disciplines.
- Experience with LNG jetty systems, loading arms, utility systems, and associated mechanical equipment (preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills within multi‑discipline EPC environments.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineering Leadership
- Represent the Company as the discipline authority for all Mechanical Engineering matters for the J3 Expansion Project.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate all mechanical engineering activities for the S1T Jetty 3 scope, including brownfield tie-ins and interfaces with existing LNG terminal facilities.
- Provide engineering guidance, technical decisions, and oversight to ensure alignment with project requirements.
