An international consulting engineering group and world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. Are in need of an Operations and Maintenance Senior Project Manager, for a role based in Montreal, Canada.
You would be working as part of an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway. General and specific responsibilities:
• Appropriates the content of the missions to be carried out, and clarifies them with the project coordination teams and clients if necessary.
• Ensures that the objectives of the missions for which he is responsible are met.
• Plans, organizes, administers, reviews and evaluates the work of those under his responsibility.
• Prioritizes and allocates available resources to the various missions under his/her responsibility, reviews and evaluates projects and schedules, makes recommendations and implements changes at the operational level to ensure the quality of services rendered.
• Periodically monitors projects and evaluates financial impacts, quality and profitability.
• Communicates regularly with clients to inform them of the progress of the work, coordinates with government agencies, external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers as required.
• Provides technical advice, prepares periodic reports and performs related work as required.
• Carries out field or shop follow-up for the manufacturing and installation of components or systems.
• Follows up on tasks with engineers and designers, and improves design processes.
• Participates in the preparation of technical offers.
• Acts as an advisor on all matters related to his field of expertise and develops his general knowledge around the urban transportation market in Canada (subway, tramway and bus).
Desired qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or related engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in similar positions, including 10 years in the operation and maintenance of automatic subway systems.
• Knowledge in ECP management, railway safety, fleet management, maintenance centre management, station operations
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or eligible.
• Fluency in French (spoken, read and written).
• Proficiency in English (spoken, read and written), an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including skills in writing reports, technical specifications, and contracts.
• Possess a solid understanding of management and business in the consulting field.
• Excellent project management, mentoring and teamwork skills.
• Have developed a talent for completing complex and ambitious multidisciplinary projects.
• Flexibility to travel for short periods of time.
