Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Mooresboro, NC
Industry: industrial metals processing
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, salaried
Pay: $135-155k plus annual bonus
*Will Relocate*
SUMMARY
This position takes ownership and responsibility over operation of one of two large sections of a unique industrial metals manufacturing and processing facility operating 24/7, 365 days per year. This position will be responsible for all day-to-day operational functions including safety, environmental compliance, production, cost management, personnel management, operations contractor management, maintenance coordination, and optimization projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading a team of 2 – 3 general foremen, 8 – 12 shift supervisors and 80 – 100 operators and operations contractors
Working with the EHS department to ensure environmental compliance, facilitate operations training, and ensure a high standard of safety and health performance
Prioritize and communicate maintenance activities with the maintenance team, including participating in weekly maintenance planning meetings
Review operating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) daily, set production targets and communicate with direct reports
Manage optimization projects through liaison with the capital projects group and key contractors
Technical support and process troubleshooting across leach and solvent extraction operations, the electrowinning, and melt cast areas, as well as the lead recovery process
Plan outages to facilitate operations and maintenance activities
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
Mentor and train operations team members
Acting in the capacity of operations manager for future career growth
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, or similar engineering field
Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in hydrometallurgy and/or extractive metallurgy techniques (solvent extraction and/or electrowinning experience preferred)
Project management skills including commissioning of equipment and materials selection
Strong analytical and technical skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and leadership skills
