Responsibilities:
- Work activities/tasks completed on or ahead of schedule. (Review with Foreman)
- Plan daily work in advance and use 2 – 3 day look ahead schedule.
- Plan material needs – pipe, fittings, bedding, structures
- Attend daily meetings for STA’s and Field Safety Talks - sign off on daily STA’s
- Install pipe efficiently, to meet/exceed bid production
- Recognize scope (ground) changes and get approval from Foreman or Superintendent for additional bedding material
- Responsible for care/maintenance/storage of tools and report defects to Foreman each day
- Ability to operate support equipment well (including rubber tire backhoe, mini-excavator, skid steer, roller, loader, compaction equipment, etc.)
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED and one (1) year of construction experience or combination of education and experience
- Pipe belle properly and bedded soundly (no leaks, sags, deflections)
- Ability to shoot grades properly
- Knowledge of pipe laying with pipe laser
- Ability to perform utility testing (pressure testing, chlorination/sampling, mandrel, etc.
