Piping DAS – Piping Discipline Application Specialist
We currently seek a high caliber Piping Discipline Application Specialist or a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Aliso Viejo, CA

The purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative and technical CAD knowledge within the piping department. This role has the responsibility to promote our EPC client’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence.
This position serves on a department level support basis and has the following tasks:

• Prepares user instructions for 3D layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity
• Audit work done by designers, focusing primarily on data and model integrity.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Provide troubleshooting service for computer systems and applications at a department and project level.
• Run and verify the completion of various daily processes.
• Compile, review and load spreadsheets of piping material into catalog databases.
• Identify CAD related problems that occur during the engineering phase of a project and provide timely solutions.

Job Requirements:
• Expert User in Smart 3D, Smartplant 3D, Smart Review, and various Hexagon Smart suite products.
• Ability to trouble shoot / resolve software problems at project level and user level.
• Technical knowledge and experience in the field of process piping and design.
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
• Strong understanding of reading and coding in XML.
