PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (VANCOUVER) - Contractor employment. Spanish proficiency is a MUST.
The Project Procurement Specialist will report to both the Procurement Lead and the Project Manager. The role involves utilizing and maintaining company’s standard project procurement methods, procedures, templates, and systems. The specialist will oversee various stages of the procurement process, including contracting and material/equipment purchasing, and ensure coordination with other project services disciplines and corporate support groups.
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in project procurement, preferably in major mining and/or processing plant projects.
- 1-2 years of hands-on field experience.
- Expertise in contract and order formation, negotiation, and change management.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including risk and change management.
- Understanding of multiple phases of project execution.
- Ability to identify procurement activities impacting the project’s critical path.
- Knowledge of the engineering (EPCM) industry and ability to interpret drawings and technical reports.
- Working knowledge of ERP procurement/purchasing systems.
- Experience with freight forwarding, logistics, brokerage, and quality surveillance.
- Excellent critical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
