We are currently looking to hire a Progress Support Specialist to support a robust project in Bay Minette, AL. Provisions are offered for travelers.
Job Summary
The Progress Support Specialist provides essential field and office support to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and communication of project progress. This role works closely with project management, superintendents, and field teams to collect, analyze, and report construction progress data, supporting schedule adherence, cost control, and timely decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Progress Tracking & Reporting

Collect daily, weekly, and monthly progress data from field teams and subcontractors.

Track installation quantities, percent complete, labor hours, and productivity metrics.

Prepare and distribute progress reports, dashboards, and summaries for project leadership and clients.

Support schedule updates by providing accurate field progress data to planners and project controls teams.

Field & Office Coordination

Serve as a liaison between field personnel, project management, and project controls.

Attend coordination meetings, progress meetings, and look‑ahead planning sessions as required.

Assist superintendents and foremen with documentation needs related to work progress and manpower.

Documentation & Controls
-
Maintain progress logs, daily reports, photos, and supporting documentation.

Ensure progress documentation is accurate, timely, and aligned with contract requirements.

Assist with change management documentation by helping quantify completed and pending work.

Support audits, client reviews, and internal project evaluations related to progress and performance.

Data Accuracy & Analysis

Verify reported progress against field observations, drawings, and scope of work.

Identify discrepancies, delays, or productivity concerns and escalate them to the project team.

Assist in trend analysis to support schedule recovery or performance improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in construction support, project controls, field coordination, or progress tracking.

Basic understanding of construction sequencing, schedules, and work packages.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with construction management or project controls software preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and manage large amounts of data.

Effective communication skills with the ability to work across field and office teams.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience on large commercial or industrial construction projects.

Familiarity with progress measurement techniques such as installed quantities, earned value, or percent complete tracking.

Experience reading construction drawings and specifications.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
-
Ability to spend time in both office and active construction site environments.
-
Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs or ladders, and work in varying weather conditions as required.

Ability to work flexible hours to support project schedule demands when necessary.
