Job Summary:

The Project Assistant team member will participate, contribute and lead tasks of projects related to new site selection, facility design, and building construction, as well as special project assignments related to plant relocation and process or procedure development. The ChsP/PJ-E will act as a team member to perform any and all tasks related to the successful completion of the assigned project. The ChsP/PJ-E will work under the general supervision of the Charleston Plant Site Development Manager (ChsP/SD).


Essential Functions:

1. Work with the cross-functional, interdisciplinary IFA team to ensure successful project execution
2. Coordinate meetings with partners, contractors or suppliers
3. Ensure Customer and IFA North America project milestone requirements are achieved
4. Provide inputs to and participate in Project Status Reports (PSRs)
5. Provide inputs to project timing schedules, monitor task execution status and communicate status to project management and project team members
6. Participate in project status meetings consisting of cross functional teams; maintain and achieve Action Item lists
7. Contribute to the monitoring of project budgets and ensuring that resources are used efficiently
8. Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as minutes, research and email
9. Be a part of Risk & Opportunity Management including identification, mitigation planning and implementation
10. Recognize priority conflicts and bottleneck situations concerning capacities, scheduling or budget; inform project leadership and participate in developing solutions

13. Develop, publish, monitor, update and communicate project timing to internal team and customer
14. Ensure Customer and IFA Rotorion North America project milestone requirements are completed
15. Ensure project execution is within the defined budget constraints
16. Monitor and report project status to IFA Rotorion North America LLC stakeholders
17. Recognize priority conflicts and bottleneck situations concerning capacities, scheduling or budget; inform IFA Rotorion leadership and propose solutions
18. Perform special projects as required

Supervisory Responsibility

The Project Assistant is an individual contributor role that supports the project organization and project specific manager to lead cross functional teams in a matrix organization.


Work Environment

This position will have exposure to a range of manufacturing, construction, and office environments.


Physical Requirements:

1. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
2. Must be able to walk/move about a 450,000 sq ft manufacturing facility: 30% of the time
3. Must be able to stand/walk/move about specific work area: 50% of the time
4. Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop: 15% of the time
5. Must be able to lift up to 15lbs on a frequent basis: 40% of the time
6. Must be able to lift over 15lbs on an infrequent basis: 10% of the time
7. Must be able to sit at a work station: 80% of the time
8. Must be able to work and operate a computer terminal: 80% of the time
9. Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computer terminal/machine centers, etc.
10. Hearing is essential for safety reasons; and to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, suppliers and customers via conversation, group meetings, and/or phone conferences
11. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday, nights and weekends as required. This role requires a certain level of flexibility in working hours to ensure customer responsiveness and project completion.


Travel

Extended periods of travel are possible based on location of site development.


Required Education and Experience

1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing operations or similar projects
2. Minimum of 1 years participating and contributing to project teams.
3. Proficiency with MS office suite and project management tools.
4. Basic Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Automotive manufacturing experience with a Tier 1 supplier
2. Proven experience working with SAP/ERP system and respective quality management modules.
3. Experience with IATF / ISO standards and procedures
