Project Geotechnical Engineer

Summary of position:
Our client is looking for a Project Engineer with 4-10 years’ experience for its Torrance office.

Requirements / Must haves:
•BS in Civil or Geological Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering - MS or PhD. a plus
•California PE certification required, GE certification a plus
•At least 2 years’ experience - Required
•Travel throughout Southern California as required (up to 25% travel for field work and inter-office support)
•Experience in geotechnical analyses methods including liquefaction analysis, slope stability analysis, ground improvement, wall design, pavement design, seismic site response, material and soils testing
•Perform field investigation work which will include but not limited to; logging soil and rock borings, construction inspection, preparation of daily construction reports
•Experience using software such as gINT, LPILE, SLIDE, SNAILZ, SLOPE/W, etc.

Job Duties:
•Conduct geotechnical investigations and prepare design level reports for a variety of projects including educational facilities, residential developments, infrastructure improvements, bridges, highways, and commercial sites.
•Work closely with other project engineers and geologists and supervise field staff
•Enhance the overall professional reputation of the company in general and specifically the geotechnical department
