The Quality Control manager must perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the Company’s Quality Management goals and standards. He/she must comply with all Federal and State environmental, safety and health regulations, standards, procedures, and guidelines, and comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. He/she must also have an excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctuality, and the desire to lead the department to complete designated work in a timely fashion.
Education/Experience
•Must have direct experience working in an ISO 9001 environment for Shipbuilding and or steel construction.
•Must have 5 plus years in inspection.
•Must have a strong background of welding, procedures, and document control.
•A good understanding of measuring devices (tape, rule, weld gauge, optical tooling)
•Must have a strong background in blueprint reading and ability to communicate theory.
•Computer literate.
•Must possess strong math skills.
•General knowledge of NDT theory and practical application (MT, PT, VT).
•Must have knowledge of ABS and Coast Guard Rules and Regulations
•Ability to set up inspection call outs with ABS, Coast Guard, and owner Rep.
•Good communication with ABS, Coast Guard and Owner Rep.
•Good communication skills and ability to operate in stressful situations while maintaining a professional attitude.
•Ability to follow instructions given by management.
•Must possess strong decision-making abilities as well as the ability to communicate the decisions in a clear and concise manner.
•Must be a self starter with the ability to perform job duties working with management to achieve set goals.
