Our partner, a leading railcar services and fleeting company is searching for a talented leader to fill the open position of Sr .Manager, Lease Fleet Engineering in their Dallas, Texas office!

SUMMARY:
In this role, the manager will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the engineering requirements related to our railcar lease fleet. Additionally, this position will execute product design to meet company objectives, partner with the leadership teams and develop controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards. In addition, you will liaise with the design team supporting the company’s new car production and product development initiatives. This manager will identify and define new processes, procedures and technology to accelerate our journey to delivering the premier experience and creating organizational scale in support of our future growth. As a key member of a cross functional team, this individual will partner across a broad set of business functions including portfolio management, customer delivery, fleet maintenance and other enabling teams.

DUTIES:
• Work closely with Commercial sales team to support the value proposition needed to meet our customer needs
• Manages lease fleet product modifications and root cause analysis
• Builds, develops and manages an engineering team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives
• Support key root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions
• Provide guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive the execution of key initiatives to support existing and prospective customers
• Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained, while maximizing efficiencies

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Master’s degree a plus
• 5 years minimum engineering experience in the rail industry
• Ability to multi-task / handle multiple projects of differing scale
• Experience implementing process management and standardization within a service engineering capacity
• Developing a closed loop model and mindset to optimize our end-to-end repair processes and new car design
• Proven experience in innovation, product development and project management principles
• In-depth knowledge of applicable industry-related regulations
• Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
• Ability to travel, as needed - (10-15%)
