Senior Material Handling Designer

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Material Handling Designer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a 12-month contract role with possibility of extension.


Responsibilities Include:
• Using 2D and 3D CAD to create belt conveyor circuits featuring feeding and receiving feed of various crushing, screening, and storage facilities.
• Developing designs and issuing drawings for construction and permitting in line with industry standard drafting practices.
• Assigning work and checking work done by other designers.
• Reviewing supplier drawings and incorporating their equipment in drawings and 3D models.
• Carrying out 3D model reviews with Project Management and clients.

Basic Job Requirements
• Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English, oftentimes with video or audio conferencing to remote audiences.
• Accredited two (2) year diploma/degree or global equivalent in field of study related to mechanical design.
• Over ten (10) years experience in carrying out conveyor, crushing and/or screening facilities design using 2D and/or 3D CAD.

Preferred Qualifications
• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study.
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Practical field experience.
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs.
