Senior Mechanical Engineer

Here is an exciting Senior Mechanical Engineer opportunity with our client, an innovative, start-up organization specializing in the development of water treatment systems in Calgary, Alberta! You would be at work in an innovative company that works in industrial settings and with municipalities. The ideal candidate for this role should have a passion for working with innovative technology and would be an outside the box thinker!

In this role, you will utilize your in-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies and act as a mechanical lead for numerous mechanical and facilities deliverables. Further to this, you should have experience in technology design for water treatment.

Job Duties:
- You will be involved with preliminary and detailed design for the packaged wastewater treatment systems
- Handle materials selection, equipment purchasing, and oversee vendor selection
- You will use your previous experience with hydraulic calculations and chemical injection as well as sweetening technology.
-Working with and designing wastewater treatment systems, rotating equipment, and water filtration
-Selecting and sizing mechanical equipment

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Must have your P.Eng. designation
-10+ years of experience in the wastewater treatment industry
- 5+ years in the design/operation of water and wastewater treatment systems
- Must be comfortable with client relationship management activities
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
