Job Title: Set Up Technician (Nights)
Location: Greenville, SC
Industry: automotive, plastics, injection molding
Reports to: Molding Team Leader
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, non-exempt
Pay: $26-30/hr depending on experience
Shift: 12-hour nights, 7p-7a, 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next week

Objective:
The Set-Up Technician will play an integral role in the injection molding department, performing and applying technical methods and knowledge to ensure molding presses are properly performing to meet production needs. The technician is responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process which includes, but is not limited to setup and teardown, minor troubleshooting, maintaining quality, workflow, documenting and training.

Duties:
• Perform changeovers of plastic injection mold tools ranging from 40-340 tons using appropriate, safe overhead crane operating procedures
• Optimize the following injection molding process parameters as needed via HMI touchscreen: material feed, speed, temperature, pressure, etc.
• Perform material and color changes, as needed, to conform to production schedule
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues (replacing pins, nozzles, tips, water lines) and/or robotic issues (re-set/re-home, touch up points) as needed
• Monitor processing of each mold during the initial start-up phase of a production run
• Monitor process data and properly adjust for any non-conformances outside of range; investigate any quality issues or non-conformances down to the root cause
• Maintain ongoing production via use of SAP planning, resin replenishment, and response to machine alarms
• Monitor set up time and work towards continuous reduction of set up times
• Maintain 5S standards
• Support team cohesiveness via complete work orders and promote information sharing within the team
• Assure safe work practices to include proper use and wear of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, etc.)

Requirements:
• Must have High School diploma
