Structural Technologist

Our client, a reputable engineering, surveying and mapping company with locations across Western Canada is currently recruiting for a Structural Technologist to join their team in Kitimat, BC. This is a full-time permanent position.
In this very exciting role, the qualified candidate will work with a team of engineers and perform preliminary design and detailed drafting of structures. Some duties include managing projects of medium scope and complexity. This candidate will be responsible for carrying our field reviews and site supervision.
Job Duties:
- Detailed drafting of steel, concrete, wood and masonry structures including connections and reinforcement details for wide variety of structural engineer projects, including building, bridges and civil structures
- Meeting clients, defining scope and budget to prepare proposals, and managing the schedule and budget of projects from concept to final delivery of drawings through to site inspections and project completion
- Collaborate with other disciplines both internally and externally
- Assisting in improving AutoCAD standards for structural drafting
- Mentorship of junior staff
Qualifications:
- Diploma of Technology or Certificate from a nationally accredited program or equivalent
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D
- Experience in Revit, would be an asset
- Previous consulting experience
- 2 years minimum structural experience
