Senior Transmission Engineer
We currently seek a high-caliber Senior Transmission Engineer for a direct hire basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals.

Our client is a family-owned, Amarillo-based company specializing in turnkey civil and energy-focused construction projects. They provide services such as below-grade civil work, pipeline installation, directional boring, and battery energy storage system (BESS) installations. Known for being a self-performing contractor, our client emphasizes safety, quality, and integrity while maintaining tight engineering tolerances.

Job Overview:
Our client is continuing to grow and they are looking for an experienced Transmission Engineer to join our team. As a Transmission Engineer, your role is pivotal in the engineering, design, and analysis of transmission lines, as well as the development of comprehensive project packages. This is a hybrid position and there are several different locations throughout the US.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the engineering and design of high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
  • Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation and assembly drawings.
  • Conducting detailed analysis to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide field support during construction.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Performs work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may involve a variety of complex features.
  • May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments.
  • Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
  • Adhere to codes and standards while delivering innovative solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements (min) 
  •  BS in Engineering from ABET accredited program 
Experience 
  •  8-15 years of experience required within Transmission Engineering
  • PLS CADD required
  • The ideal candidate has a PE or is able to obtain it within the next 3 months
