Job Description: Warehouse Operator
Time: Full time, Wage
Qualification/Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: Industrial/Quality control experience a plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, rules and regulations set forth by the company.
- Must follow plant and personal safety programs and safe work practices. Individual will not take unnecessary risks to complete job assignments.
- Follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), procedures and work instructions set forth by the company. Ensure EHS, quality, and food safety standards are being met and continuous evaluation of risks and hazards for safety, environment, energy, and quality while at work.
- Carry out all routine and non-routine activities as requested by supervision and other members of management.
- Must be able to work on elevated surfaces, climb ladders and work with hot material.
- Must be able to stand/work on concrete floors for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. and push/pull one hundred (100) lbs.
- Operate moving equipment following proper practices and procedures.
- Properly report and handle any waste, spill or leak
- Conduct routine cleaning and inspections on equipment and always maintain work areas in a neat and safe condition.
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures that may be given or assigned by management.
- Record information accurately in all prescribed locations (computer logs, reports and systems as well as neatly completing paper records) - maintaining accurate and organized records of all jobs performed and see they are completed following the work instructions set forth by the company.
- Managing incoming flake shipments - Recording weights, tracking information, inspections / sampling and following QC procedures - organized and systematic unloading of trucks with forklift and placement of flake bags with labeling, tracking, and segregating including using FIFO methodology.
- Unloading / transferring flakes from bags to silos and from silo to silo using automated material handling equipment - tracking and maintaining records in systems, inspections of equipment and emptying material collection points (typically dust).
- Handling of empty bags and pallets - typically collect and sent back to supplier.
- Perform daily checks of forklift equipment and material handling equipment.
- Assisting in maintaining site - putting away / organizing materials left out and maintaining work areas clean at various site work areas.
- Manage incoming goods including lab chemicals, supplies, and parts (non-bulk)
