Fire Alarm Systems Mechanic
We currently seek a high caliber Fire Alarm Systems Mechanic for a long-term basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals. Based in Hinesville, GA

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Assists the Team Lead in execution of specific portions of Fire Alarm Inspection / Testing and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems. Will also work on small to medium size system installations or upgrades to existing systems or the overall system installation project. Serves as the primary support to the Senior field technician and project manager while working w/other field personnel in a team role. Current USACE background check or possession of a Common Access Card (CAC), and Monaco / Notifier / Firelite / Simplex installation and maintenance certification is desired.

This position will function as support to Inspection/Testing Technicians. Performing Testing/Inspections on a military installation. Experience with Notifier, Honeywell, Firelite and Simplex Fire Alarm Panels a plus.

The Fire Alarm Systems Mechanic will be part of a first-class team responsible for conducting yearly and 5-year ITM’s on high profile military buildings. Mastering accurate and precise NFPA 72 Testing Reports is critical to the mission. Mechanic will be required to communicate effectively any discrepancies and report them in detail. Mechanic will be a Team player and will represent our client in a professional demeanor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works within the ITM’s field team in safe work practices and collection of inspection data. Works with facility occupant staff in coordination of testing and inspections to collect the condition and deficiency data, document the inspection data and keeping data current. Manages work plans and updates inspection schedules to maintain track record of work completed. Interpret statements of work, specifications, and design drawings in order to plan, execute and complete inspection testing and preventative maintenance of fire and life safety systems.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• The Fire Alarm Systems Mechanic is responsible for performing inspection, testing and maintenance of Fire Alarm and Mass Notification systems on Military Installations.
• Fire Alarm Systems may include annunciators, various initiating devices, notification devices, mass notification equipment including panels, amps, LOC’s, speakers and radio communications network equipment including antenna’s.
• Be knowledgeable in DoD regulations, NFPA Codes and the Unified Facility Criteria (UFC’s) pertaining to Life Safety and be able insure compliance of the system, address engineering inquiries, and support the inspection team in resolution of problems.
• Reads and interprets statements of work, specifications, and design drawings.
• Familiar with Fire Alarm Systems and security components from various manufacturers for implementing (ITM’s) and service work per NFPA regulations and DoD/Government requirements. Integration of new components into existing Alarm and Detection systems, Suppression Systems, and Mass Notification Systems.
• Attends project status meetings on site to provide engineering support for the project.
• Interfaces with site and customer personnel representing Parsons interests and resolving project issues.
• Create or supports the creation of project documentation including Inspection reports, asset inventory documentation, photos of assets or As-Built drawings, submittals, and training materials.
• Maintains current NICET II certification and training in Fire Alarm systems latest technology.
• Provide engineering and troubleshooting support for resolution of field problems via phone or on-site.
• Willingness to travel to client facility locations throughout Military Installations in North Carolina or Georgia depending on assignment location is expected. (1/2 to One Day Trips)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Candidate shall have minimum 2-years’ experience and current NICET II Fire Alarm Systems / NICET I or II Fire Alarm Inspection and Testing. Shall have knowledge of NFPA 72 Inspection and Testing methods and frequencies. Ability to install and service all components of a Fire Alarm System. A desire to learn new systems and advance in Fire Alarm certifications. Work on call occasionally.
• Shall have professional appearance, attitude with excellent customer service skills. Must pass background check and drug testing. Possess valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Basic computer skills are required.

• Minimum of Two (2) years of related experience with systems servicing and (ITMs) Inspections, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems.
• Must have Two (2) years’ experience in servicing and repair of fire alarm systems. Working on Military Installations a PLUS
• Must have experience with fully addressable systems including (Monaco, Honeywell, Firelite or Notifier). Mass Notification experience a PLUS –
• Experience w/ Federal Signal (Giant Voice) systems a +++
• High School Diploma a must
• Experience on Federal / Military installations is a +++
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• Requires a working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as some familiarity with industry practices. Also requires good written and oral communication skills, and a familiarity with other PC software packages typically associated with MS Office (Word / Excel) and construction. Ability to work as part of a team is essential.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Must have a valid driver’s license and CLEAN Motor Vehicle Report
• Security Clearance is a plus + +
• Candidates MUST HAVE their NICET II certification - OR - if they have a NICET I certification, they must be willing TO OBTAIN Level II WITHIN 12 MONTHS
