Job Summary:

The Mechanical Superintendent oversees and coordinates all mechanical construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage mechanical crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
  • Plan and schedule mechanical work activities in coordination with other trades.
  • Monitor progress and productivity, resolving issues to avoid delays.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to codes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, work logs, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
  • Enforce safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and audits.
  • Assist in procurement and inventory management of mechanical materials and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA certification and other relevant safety training preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed on active construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • May require extended hours, weekends, and travel depending on project needs.
