We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to join our team in the shipping/energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and proficiency in using Sage accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and customized reports to support decision-making.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Client Communication: Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing their questions and ensuring they feel supported.
- Problem Solving: Identify discrepancies and provide solutions to maintain accurate records.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Sector-Specific Tasks: Track and record expenses related to shipping/energy operations, including fuel, maintenance, and labor costs. Maintain financial records for individual shipments or energy projects.
Qualifications:
- Language: Must be Arabic speaker.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience, preferably in the shipping or energy sector.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Sage accounting software. Experience with other accounting software like QuickBooks and Excel is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
- Certifications: CPA or other relevant certifications are preferred but not required.
