TEMP-to-HIRE Mechanic 1 Food Production Plant

1. PM’s will be done on a daily basis.
2. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment in production operations, utilities, buildings & grounds, etc.
3. Attention to detail and accuracy in work required.
4. Personal qualities of tact, dependability and ability to work well with others required.
5. Clear communication abilities, written and verbal.
6. Knowledge of computer software helpful.



Maintains 110 volt single phase and 220/480 three phase systems as well as repair and/or rebuild magnetic starters

Repairs plumbing problems, including pressure regulations and valves

Repairs and troubleshoots electrical forklifts, including motors, drive units, and hydraulic cylinders.

Performs welding on pipe, racking forklifts, and finish work

Changes and troubleshoots electrical contacts when necessary

Maintains and reports all building equipment as necessary

Responsible for preventative maintenance on all equipment (freezer doors, forklifts, etc.)

Responsible to report food safety and quality problems to their supervisor

Safety:
•Function as an advocate and overseer of safety.
•Participate in the company’s safety team.
•Provide training and oversight in safety related functions.

Qualifications
•3+ years industrial mechanics.

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:
•PLC: 1 year (Preferred)
•industrial maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
•refrigeration systems: 1 year a ++

License:
•HVAC a ++

Education and Experience

Two years of production equipment repair experience

Five years of production experience

High school diploma or GED,

Competencies
Background and demonstrable familiarity with: LEAN manufacturing, HACCP, and GMP food system requirements.

Working Conditions:
Refrigerated environment - temperatures average 40 degrees Fahrenheit
Bakery environment - temperatures 90 degrees Fahrenheit

Ability to work overtime

Standing on your feet for the majority of the shift

Fast, but regular paced environment (i.e., not "chaotic" or frenetic)
Lift/push/pull 50+lbs as required throughout the course of a shift.
Twist and bend the body as necessary to perform job related tasks.
Kneel/squat/climb as necessary to complete job related tasks.
Meet/maintain USDA food handling requirements and other governmental requirements.
Ability to meet FDA guidelines of public safety for work in a food production environment.
