The Opportunity
We at TRS are currently looking for a talented, highly motivated Buyer/ Expeditor for position based in Kitimat, BC to support our client, a world leading EPCM. The key individual will be efficient in facilitating process within EPCM construction projects.
Responsibilities
• Analysis of purchase requisitions; materials & equipment, quantity, quality, proper authorizations and proper support documentation
• Vendor and supplier management approved by project and department.
• Full cycle RFQ process;
o Preparation, analysis and issues RFQs.
o Evaluation of bid quotations
o and negotiation
• Issue of purchase orders and establishes purchasing procedures
• Research and analysis of market conditions and commodities both local and internationally
• Close out of purchase orders ensuring all contract completion; maintains proper documentation and filing
• Monitor supplier progress of documents, equipment and materials; maintain log and follow up with outstanding actions, both with supplier and internal stakeholders in addition to expediting reports, production schedules, progress reports and material/ equipment delays or scheduling conflicts
• Strong attention to detail within invoice validation and purchase orders, closeouts and reports, records and filing
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree or equivalent years of experience
• Minimum of 5 -10years in Buying, Procurement or Expediting
• Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
• Strong communication, leadership and mentoring skills
