"TRS has an international opportunity for a certified Cargo Superintendent with FPSO Project experience within the Oil and Gas industry to join our International Client's Offshore FPSO GIMBOA Project based in Angola."
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Responsible for the safety and security of the ship, oversee the deck department and report to the Master, operate on a seagoing ship of 3.000 gross tonnage or more, and able to operate, according with Company Procedures, any NOT DP vessels.
• Be the second in charge of the Master and collaborate with him in the definition and execution of the navigation plans.
• Assist the Master in the safe and efficient General vessel's conduction.
• Act as the Vessel Safety Officer, as defined by SOLAS regulations and Company HSES procedures.
• Whenever required, act as BS (barge supervisor) or BCO (ballast control operator) as defined in IMO resolution A. 1079 (28).
• Report to Master, keep watching the Bridge and direct the officers and deck personnel, ensuring that operate with discipline and efficiency according to Company requirements, State, Class, Flag, ISM, ISPS, MLC2006, SOLAS, MARPOL, relevant statutory and client requirements.
• Assist the Master during navigation, manoeuvring and operative phases as per Company procedure.
• Propose to the Master to review the operation manual depending on changes to equipment or standard operating procedures.
• Report to the Master unsafe acts/conditions and other issues with implications for safe operation, marine environment and
navigability in compliance with HSES procedures.
• Carry out stability and lifting calculations prior to allowing any ballasting, considering if trim, stability and stress of the vessel
are within the maximum limit allowed, in accordance with international Rules (Conventions; coordinate movements of cranes and ballasting of the vessel.
QUALFIICATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Accredited Diploma / Certificates or equivalent qualification in related field of work.
• Minimum three (3) Years as Officer in Charge for Navigational Watch (Expert Seniority) recent proven work related experience within Oil & Gas Industry.
• Minimum experience of One (1) year on off-shore activity unless a defined rank of Master had been previously covered
On-board merchant marine vessels
• Handling computerized control systems
• Must have FPSO experience.
• International experience in Africa, Brazil is a plus.
• Experience with Total, SHELL, Saipem, SONANGOL, BP is a plus.
• STCW required certificates, National CoC Reg. II/2 and endorsement (COMPULSORY)
• Completion of all training and certifications as described in the Training Matrix (COMPULSORY)
• MOU stability course (where applicable)
