Our client a leading EPC and a specialist fabrication and engineering provider known for delivering durable, precision‑built solutions across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects is looking for a Civil Supervisor for a project in Torness. 

Key Responsibilities of the Civil Supervisor are 

  • Supervise and manage all civil construction activities associated with the onshore substation, including:
    • Site preparation and earthworks
    • Foundations and concrete structures
    • Buildings and associated infrastructure
    • Access roads, drainage, and utilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily construction activities in line with the project programme and engineering requirements.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives, ensuring effective communication and performance on site.
  • Monitor progress against schedule, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Review and implement approved construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet project and contractual requirements.
  • Support cost control by monitoring labour, materials, plant usage, and variations.
  • Liaise with the project management team, engineers, client representatives, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily site reports, progress updates, and records of change.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Civil Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven experience in a Civil Supervisor or similar role on large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience on EPC, energy, substation, or heavy civil projects is desirable
  • SMSTS certification – essential
  • CSCS card – essential
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a site‑based environment and manage multiple work fronts
