Our client a leading EPC is looking for a Civil Supervisor for a project in Torness.
Key Responsibilities of the Civil Supervisor are
- Supervise and manage all civil construction activities associated with the onshore substation, including:
- Site preparation and earthworks
- Foundations and concrete structures
- Buildings and associated infrastructure
- Access roads, drainage, and utilities
- Plan and coordinate daily construction activities in line with the project programme and engineering requirements.
- Ensure all works are carried out in full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives, ensuring effective communication and performance on site.
- Monitor progress against schedule, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions where required.
- Review and implement approved construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet project and contractual requirements.
- Support cost control by monitoring labour, materials, plant usage, and variations.
- Liaise with the project management team, engineers, client representatives, and external stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily site reports, progress updates, and records of change.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Civil Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
- Proven experience in a Civil Supervisor or similar role on large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects
- Previous experience on EPC, energy, substation, or heavy civil projects is desirable
- SMSTS certification – essential
- CSCS card – essential
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a site‑based environment and manage multiple work fronts
