Civil Estimator

TRS Staffing Solutions has opportunities for a Civil Estimator to work for our client in Toronto, ON. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals who are looking to grow their skills in estimating. In this role, you will join a collaborative team and deliver estimates for one of the largest capital infrastructure projects

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes documents, drawings, specifications, and proposals, in preparation for pricing.
• Supports the process to obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors and incorporate into estimate.
• Formulates costs – labor, equipment, material, rentals, and subcontracts.
• Maintains files and correspondence on active and completed tenders.
• Complies with Estimating process / procedure and consistency.
• Maintains estimating data systems to ensure they are kept up to date.

Qualifications:

• 5 -10+ years of progressive estimating experience in civil construction
• Experience of using estimating software is required
• Knowledge and/or experience of the rail and transit industry environment is preferred.
• Proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) is essential
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• An understanding of site conditions that impact bid costs, ensure constructability.
• A knowledge of various types of construction contracts
• Understanding of the job handover process
