The client is a leading infrastructure organization in India, specializing in end‑to‑end turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) solutions. With a strong legacy under the Jakson Group, the client has delivered high‑impact projects across Power Transmission, Power Distribution, Metro Electrification, Water Infrastructure, and Civil Infrastructure. Known for engineering excellence and a commitment to nation‑building, the client executes complex infrastructure developments for government, private, and international clients. Their marquee work includes projects under Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL), the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), and major Metro Electrification projects in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Job Description:
B.E./B. Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with extensive knowledge of MEP design for Metro Rail systems. Shall be capable of independently handling detailed MEP design activities in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.

Role Overview
The role is responsible for complete design delivery, including preparation, coordination, review, and submission of MEP designs. This includes coordination with internal teams, external agencies, Interface contractors, and clients throughout project completion.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and approval of Electrical & Mechanical layouts, calculations, design drawings, and technical documents.
  • Review, verify, and approve contractor MEP design submissions and drawings.
  • Manage and guide a team of engineers, draftsmen, and BIM modelers to ensure coordinated and timely design delivery.
  • Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBRs), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), variation statements, and other design deliverables.
  • Handle vendor evaluation, material approvals, and technical clarification processes.
  • Coordinate with clients on design issues, deliverables, approvals, and statutory compliance.
  • Review and verify contractor submissions related to design, materials, and site execution plans prior to client submission.
  • Prepare and review Electrical, Firefighting, HVAC, BMS, and Plumbing system design drawings.
  • Assess compliance of designs with IS, IEC, BS EN, NFPA, NBC and relevant local authority regulations.
  • Validate critical engineering calculations including load calculations, voltage drop, breaker sizing, earthing, power factor, harmonics, and system pressure losses.
  • Coordinate BOQ preparation, vendor finalization, SCM activities, and internal stakeholder interfaces.
  • Support site coordination and resolve design-related site issues.
Required Skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum 8+ years of QA/QC experience in infrastructure projects
  • Mandatory experience in Metro / Rail Projects
  • B.E/B. Tech In Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with minimum 15 years of total work experience with minimum 8 years in Metro/Railway E&M Design.
