Here is an exciting opportunity to join a mega project in beautiful Kitimat, British Columbia as a Diversity Coordinator. The successful candidate will engage in work along likeminded professionals of an EPCM/ construction firm that leads multiple global projects. Working on a 14/7 rotation schedule, this opportunity boasts longevity and provides beautiful executive accommodations.
Reporting to the JFJV Industrial Relations – Training Manager, the qualified individual will be responsible for providing initiatives, plans and processes while providing response to workforce related queries. This individual would have an inclusive approach to their responsibilities. Responsibilities would also include acting as the liaison with the External Affairs Department, Local First Nations and Trades Schools/ Colleges in the Kitimat area.
Job Duties:
- Providing recommendations in response to subcontractor, union, training provider,
and contractual needs concerning diversity initiatives
- Assisting in promoting the hiring of under-represented groups in the trades
- Researching leading-edge programs to promote cooperation and coordination with
unions, training providers, and subcontractors
- Preparing statistical reports based on the actual workforce at the site in
Kitimat
- Utilizing the statistical reports to cause constructive actions concerning recruiting,
hiring, and maintaining a diverse and subcontractor workforce
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred - preferably in Human
Resources or Labour Relations
- Labour Relations experience in the construction industry would be an asset
- Knowledge of contingency planning, proactive employer relations programs, and
construction apprenticeship programs
- Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of Word, Excel, relational
databases, email, as well as presentations
- Fluent in English with above average writing skills
- Valid drivers license
