Electrical & Control Systems Lead Designer

In this position, you will apply your knowledge of the principles of electrical & control systems design to
lead the development of industrial construction drawings, including single line diagrams, area classification diagrams, grounding, lighting, conduit/cable tray, schematics and wiring diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, installation details, PLC panel layout and I/O schematics, loop diagrams and control system architecture.
Work in a team environment with electrical engineers and other disciplines (e.g. project management, piping, mechanical, civil, structural, etc.) to develop solutions to clients’ multi-discipline project needs.

The position has a flexible 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work location, supporting the Fountain Valley office.

Job Requirements:
Your core duties and responsibilities may require you to do the following:
• Lead the electrical & control systems design development for simple projects, managing other designers and drafters as needed.
• Develop and maintain good professional relationship with clients.  
• Support Principal Electrical & Control Systems Designers on large and complex projects.
• Support the development of design labor estimate for new projects.
• Keep track of project budgets, schedules and change orders.
• Develop construction drawings and material requirements.
• Perform site visits to gather field data and verify existing facilities and project requirements.
• Use software tools to perform design calculations such as cable tray sizing, conduit sizing, duct bank sizing, voltage drops, etc.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects with various due dates. Attend coordination and status meetings.
