TRS Staffing is on the hunt for 3 Quality Assurance Inspectors to join the team with one of their Virginia clients. The QA is responsible for Code compliance and constructability resource for Construction Management and Engineering Groups as well as provide Discipline specific installation support (ie. EEW kits for Electrical)
Length of contract: 6 months + (long-term contract to possible direct hire)
Salary: Approx $42-59/hr
Location: Manassas,VA
Position Specifics
- Qualified to inspect all materials received prior to installation or use to ensure fabrication specifications are met, ensure that installations are performed in accordance with the following:
- Master Specifications, Standard Installation Details, State and Local Codes UMC, UBC UPC and NFPA, SMACNA Standards, and International Codes, ASME, AWS
- Interface with OM/PM/CC and Trades on matters affecting the project quality of work and system operation
- Interface with Contractor supervision on functions and requirements for installations - Assist trades in identifying and solving construction problems
- Perform all necessary inspections and equipment signoff requirements
- Participate in SOP and perform SIPP and Pre-Task Plan audits for compliance to all requirements
- Able to resolve technical construction questions and answer discipline specific RFIs.
- Also includes any discipline specific requirements as listed below.
- Support all customer QAR needs and drive for resolutions.
- Review Electrical documentation such as WP’s, SIPP’S or JHA’s
- Verification that COHE is completed prior to any voltage checks.
- Instrument & Controls experience, NEC knowledge, specifications knowledge is a must
- Microchip, data and or life science experience is a plus.
- Minimum 5yr Commercial or 2yr industrial with Medium and low voltage
- Foreman experience in leading and directing quality work
- Must have experience in similar QAQC type roles for major high tech construction projects/semiconductor facilities
- Strong knowledge is required in the following areas; local and national codes; construction drawings/symbols; acceptable industry standard/practice
- Certification in OSHA 30 and NFPA-70E
- Desired Electrical Professional Certifications
- Must have journeyman certification in the specific in Electrical for the state of Virginia.
- ASSE – American Society of Safety Engineers
- IAEI – International Association of Electrical Inspectors
- Able to communicate with trades (speak “language” of the trades).
- Technically skilled to act as the interface between trades, the designers and the tool owners.
- Need to understand tool drawing set for the corresponding functional area, to solve field contraction issues.
- Thorough understanding of respective discipline (EL, ME, PI, AR, LSS) to drive trade’s coordination.
- Understanding of Area Layout. Knowledge of micro schedule for pre-facilitation, understanding of sequence of construction activities and tool sequence.
- Able to track hours in the field and to assess earned value. Coordinate pre-facilities readiness check lists.
- Able to resolve technical construction questions in the field.
